Mr. Mayer has been in the orthopedic business since 1977. He started his orthopaedic career with DePuy serving 18 years as a union employee, marketing trainee, sales associate, Independent Agent, member of the Sales Advisory Board, Business Development Director of their ProSource Division, and full-line Distributor serving on the President’s Council. His history in the orthopaedic industry includes extensive experience in sales, distribution and business development. 

In the fall of 2002 Mr. Mayer founded DVO, a company focused on the development and commercialization of innovative orthopaedic products for the upper extremity market. Mr. Mayer co-led the development, growth and eventual sale of DVO Extremity Solutions LLC to Tornier, Inc. in March of 2007. Over the next two years, Mr. Mayer served as Vice President of Sales Execution and was a member of the Tornier Executive Management team. In April of 2009, Mr. Mayer co-founded Del Palma Orthopedics, a product development company, where he was named President and CEO.  In January of 2013, he joined Nextremity Solutions Inc. and currently serves as President and CEO.  In October of 2016, Mr. Mayer pioneered a novel micro-commercialization strategy which lead to an exclusive distribution agreement with Zimmer Biomet for the company’s foot and ankle deformity correction products.

Mr. Mayer currently resides in Warsaw, Indiana, is happily married to his wife of 23 years and has been blessed with 5 children.
